![]() Pursued by various officials who claim to be from a range of law-enforcement agencies - from the FBI to the CIA - he eventually wends his way to Mexico. Eventually, he gets framed for the murder of two policemen and goes on the lam. The script, however, does contain a number of funny lines and scenes, although they are often riddled with profanity (including liberal doses of the “N” word).įrom what can be determined from the plot, Orlando Jones plays Daryl Chase, a Harvard graduate and financier who inadvertently gets caught up in a fraudulent monetary scheme (a more specific description is impossible because none of this ever becomes clear). The dialogue and acting are often breathtakingly bad. With a weak, nearly impenetrable plot, the movie is mainly a vehicle for the passable comedic talents of its two stars, Eddie Griffin and Orlando Jones. The movie DOUBLE TAKE is sort of a poor man’s TRADING PLACES. It’s an overlong sitcom without the usual restraints from TV censors. Ultimately, viewers will think DOUBLE TAKE is too trifling to waste their time on at the theater. Still, this is not a movie any child should see, based on the foul language alone. Most of the violence is pretty bloodless by Hollywood standards, and the film mostly eschews sex and nudity, beyond a fair amount of conversational sexual innuendo. Regrettably, witty dialogue cannot save DOUBLE TAKE from its convoluted, tedious plot, which features a good deal of violence. Although riddled with racial stereotyping, this premise affords some pretty hilarious dialogue with a number of clever, creative lines. The comic idea behind DOUBLE TAKE is the juxtaposition of these two characters: a Harvard-educated businessman who has “forgotten” his black “roots,” and a small-time hustler from the ‘hood who may have joined the police or may be playing some sort of other game. I think it would be great for travelling as it has a two-in-one powder and foundation functionality, and also has super convenient packaging with a mirror. The above picture shows it applied wet with a brush, and also the new Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer Hydrate, the Charlotte Tilbury Seductive Beauty Instant Palette, YSL The Shock in Rough Burgundy on the lashes. I haven’t tried it dry yet, and if I do, I’d imagine it will be more for the t-zone after foundation for shine control and enhanced coverage. The next time I tried it, I used a wet Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and liked it even more. A few drops of water reactivates the liquid component of the foundation and you can then apply it like a liquid. I had a little go with the sponge dampened, as I am more of a liquid foundation fan. It comes with a double sided sponge and you are told to use the pink side for dry application and the white side for wet. The way this is created – it is baked for 24 hours from a liquid to a powder – means that there’s nothing added to it to bind it or fill it, so what you get is pretty much pure pigment. I like skin to look like skin, but I want it to look like abnormally perfect skin!! Laura Geller Double Take Baked Powder Foundation In spite of the fact that I probably don’t need full coverage, I simply prefer full coverage products applied with a light hand. Dry application promises medium to full coverage, and wet application, which I was instantly drawn to, promises more enhanced coverage.
